Furniture — Cabinets & Wardrobes
Floor-to-ceiling wine joinery with hand-carved relief, an arched display niche and bored bottle racking.
The piece
A full-height wine wall for a private residence: glazed upper cabinets, bored bottle racking, and a centre bay built around an arched niche with a radial rack that turns the bottles into the display.
The cornice, frieze and door panels carry hand-carved vine relief. Carving of this kind is not applied ornament — the panels are machined oversize, carved in the solid, then fitted, so the relief runs continuously across a joint instead of stopping at it. The same hands set out the run so a repeating motif lands correctly at every corner and return.
The bottle bores are drilled on a jig referenced to the carcass rather than to the face, so the rows stay level across bays even where the cabinet depth steps. The arched niche is a laminated former with the radial rack set out from its centre point. Glazed cabinets are lit from concealed channels in the head rail.
Bay layout, bottle count, carving pattern and finish are all developed with the client’s designer. Lead time confirmed with the quotation.
